Contraindications
Tissue staining: Silver salts can stain tissues black; this typically fades within two weeks.
Argyria risk: Prolonged exposure can cause argyria, a slate-blue discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes due to silver deposition.
Eye staining: The sclera (white part of the eye) may also be affected.
Warnings and Precautions
Poisonous if ingested: Can cause severe symptoms like gastroenteritis, coma, convulsions, and respiratory issues. Seek medical help immediately if poisoning occurs.
Eye contact danger: Do not use on eyes. If contact occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes and consult a physician.
Chemical burns: Silver nitrate is caustic and can cause burns if misused.
Usage Guidelines
Use chemical-resistant gloves and appropriate protective gear.
Confine application to the treatment area to avoid staining or burns.
Minimize contact time, especially on delicate skin or neonates.
Avoid prolonged contact with skin or surfaces to prevent staining
